As I often say… when it comes to thunderstorms, expect the unexpected. This morning MCS was not forecast well, and another reminder that a cold core upper low (even when they are near Chicago) can be a “weatherman’s woe”.

The storms will clip the western and southern part of the Birmingham metro within the hour, and to the southwest through Bibb, Perry, Chilton, Dallas, and Marengo Counties. Expect lots of lighting, heavy rain, and gusty winds. But, the storms are below severe limits and additional warnings, while possible, are not expected.

These storms will not impact areas north and east of Birmingham.
