Radar continued to show a line of showers along with some lightning passing through Central Mississippi from north of Jackson northward to Batesville. It’s interesting to note that the Jackson morning sounding, seen here, continued to show rather dry air aloft as does the Birmingham sounding. This is my primary basis for thinking that there is not likely to be much rain in Alabama.

A quick glance at observations in Mississippi showed Greenville had 6 hundredths of an inch when the line passed there, while Greenwood recorded not rain according to the official NWS observation data. So for the moment, it looks like the forecast of some clouds with a few sprinkles remains on track. Satellite imagery continued to show some clouds entering Alabama in the vicinity of Lamar and Pickens counties.
