An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

EIGHT IN A ROW: Today will be the 8th consecutive day with no rain for Alabama; another sunny, warm day with a high in the mid 80s this afternoon. That is about 10 degrees above average, and not too far from the record high for the day, which is 89 set in 1977.

COOLER WEEKEND: A cold front will pass through our state tomorrow, and it sure looks like it will be a dry frontal passage for most Alabama communities. I guess we need to mention a few isolated showers, but the chance of any one spot getting wet tomorrow is about one in ten. The sky will be partly sunny, and most places will see a high in the upper 70s. Sunday will be cooler with ample sunshine and a high in the low 70s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Yes, we know this is spring, but Alabama is a football-loving state, and the spring games at both Alabama and Auburn Saturday promise to bring out large crowds. For the A-Day game at Auburn, the sky will be partly sunny, with temperatures in the 74 to 77 degree range during the game, and the chance of rain is very small. For Alabama’s A-Day game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, the chance of a shower during the game is only in the 10 percent range. The sky will be partially sunny with temperatures ranging from 75 to 78.

AT THE BEACH: Expect mostly sunny days and fair nights along the Gulf Coast from Panama City west to Gulf Shores through Saturday. Highs along the immediate coast will be in the low 70s, with readings closer to 80 just a few miles inland. A few widely scattered showers could show up Sunday and Monday, but most of those two days will be dry. Sea water temperatures along the coast remain in the 69 to 72 degree range.

NEXT WEEK: Our weather stays dry Monday through Friday, with highs mostly in the 75 to 80 degree range. Most of Alabama will wind up going 15 days in a row with no rain.

VOODOO LAND: Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see the GFS continues to bring in our next significant chance of rain over the weekend of April 24-25; the 00Z run holds the rain off until Sunday the 25th, but remember this is out there in the land of voodoo, and that will probably change again.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
