Most of Alabama is seeing mostly sunny skies this afternoon with very warm afternoon temperatures. Most locations have made it into the 80s, which is 5-10 degrees above normal for this time of year. If that is the only complaint there is, I will take it. It is a terrific fall Saturday afternoon across Alabama. We are seeing some cloudy conditions off to our west in northern and central Mississippi and those are thanks to a cold front that has made it into the Southeast.
Underneath those clouds, there are some showers and thunderstorms ongoing to our west. There are a lot of radar returns showing up on the radar across Alabama, but that is all ground clutter. It is a different story to our west where showers and thunderstorms are ongoing. This activity is along the cold front to our west that is beginning to stall and wash out over the Mississippi Delta. This convection should stay off to our northwest and is not expected to cause any unsettled weather for us this weekend. High pressure and dry air are making it difficult for these storms to make it into Alabama.
