The arctic cold front will move through Birmingham shortly, around 1 o’clock this afternoon or soon thereafter.
At noon, it was 52 and sunny in Birmingham. At the same time it was 37 in the Muscle Shoals-Tuscumbia-Florence area in Extreme NW Alabama. North winds were gusting over 25 mph and the wind chill was down to 28.
It was 40 in Huntsville with NW winds to 28 mph.
The cold front has already moved through Tuscaloosa. When it reaches Birmingham, the temperature will fall into the 40s quickly.
We still expect temperatures to drop under 20 across Central Alabama tonight.
