A fairly impressive upper level trough over Kentucky and Ohio this evening is pushing eastward. This trough has pushed a frontal boundary down into Tennessee and northeastern Alabama.
Showers and storms became severe in the unstable air over southern Tennessee this afternoon and have been pushing southeastward into North Alabama.
The storms have weakened a bit this evening and are no linger severe. They will continue pushing southeastward overnight. Storms should reach Gadsden in less than an hour, Winston County in less than two hours and Cullman in a little longer than an hour.
The storms still are packing a lot of lightning and heavy rain. There could also be some strong gusty winds.
