Sunshine along with blue sky fill the atmosphere over Central Alabama on this Fathers Day. And that bright sunshine has forced thermometers into the 90s. Tuscaloosa and Dadeville were leading the pack at 1 pm with 97. Birmingham was a close second with 95. Fort Payne was the cool spot with 88.

Alabama radars were clear of any echoes, so don’t look for any relief from the heat from a stray shower. At least there was a breeze with a southwesterly wind around 8 to 12 mph at most locations.

Looks like most spots will climb into the range from 95 to 98 across Central Alabama for highs today. The heat and lack of showers was expected to last at least until Tuesday.

Looking over the surface observation map, EVERY single reporting station in Alabama was in the 90s. Temperatures ranged from 99 at Tuscaloosa to 90 at Fort Payne.
