I am in our Storm Chaser van this morning doing some live streaming video from just below Montgomery; you can see the stream in the upper left part of the blog. A nice steady, light snow is falling here with no accumulation so far.

I have a break between radio stations for a few minutes… here are some forecast notes…

*This will be a historic snow event for much of South Alabama. Some communities between U.S. 80 and U.S. 84 could see 3 to 6 inches of snow. The ground is already white in many of these areas; Greenville reports one inch right now. Some of the cities that will see the heaviest snow include Camden, Monroeville, Troy, Andalusia, Opp, and Clio. Montgomery and Auburn will see at least two inches, and maybe more.

*We continue to project 1 to 2 inches of snow the I-20, including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston. This is not as aggressive as the National Weather Service; they continue to predict 2 to 4 inches of snow. One way or another, major driving issues are not expected along I-20 until this evening when temps go below freezing and bridge icing becomes an issue.

Have to get back on the radio.. you can see the snow projection below.
