NO RAIN THROUGH THE WEEKEND: The sky is partly sunny over most of Alabama this afternoon, with temperatures in the 77-82 degree range. Nothing on radar, and the dewpoints are down in the low 60s, meaning dry air continues to take over.
TOMORROW THROUGH THE WEEKEND: Doesn’t get much better. Mostly sunny pleasant days, fair cool nights. Highs between 80 and 84, lows between 56 and 62 for most places. The humidity will be rather low.
Despite a weak surface front just to the north, it sure looks like most communities will stay dry into at least the first half of next week.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Dry and pleasant for the high school football games tonight and tomorrow night; the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 70s, reaching the 60s by the fourth quarter in many stadiums around here.
Saturday, Alabama hosts Ole Miss (5:30p CT kickoff) at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The sky will be clear; about 80 degrees at kickoff, with temperatures falling through the 70s during the game.
UAB is in Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday evening (6:30p CT kickoff); clear weather is the story there as well with temperatures falling from near 76 at kickoff, into the 60s by the fourth quarter.
Samford and Jacksonville State both have Saturday afternoon home games; the weather will be great with lots of sun and kickoff temperatures in the low 80s at Birmingham and Jacksonville.
GULF COAST WEATHER: Sunny days, fair nights through the weekend. Highs in the 80s from Panama City over to Gulf Shores.
TROPICS: NHC has identified a tropical wave in the middle of the Atlantic, about halfway between the coast of Africa and the Lesser Antilles, but only a small chance of development over the next few days. See the Weather Xtreme video for a look at the system.
