I know you don’t like the lightning and the loud thunder (it scares dogs to death), nor do you like the strong winds and the heavy rain during morning drive.

But there is a big plus to these early morning thunderstorms. The widespread yellow pollen, the worst in a long time, will be swept away by the heavy showers.

At 6:00 this morning, most of the strong storms had moved east of places like Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Locations now waiting in line to get the thunderstorms and heavy rain include Ft. Payne, Anniston, Talladega, Sylacauga, Clanton and Demopolis.

Since we have been short on rain lately, we will try to post a list later this morning. Three reports we already have in from 33/40 Skywatchers:

0.86 Bessemer
0.58 Coker
0.51 Greystone Cove
