Long line of showers continues to move east across Mississippi and now moving inti Extreme NW Alabama.

The line (actually a fairly broad solid zone) extends from the NE corner of Mississippi southward to Jackson and Baton Rouge.

There was some lightning in Central Mississippi but, overall, very little lightning. Rain is locally heavy.

During the next couple of hours, Marion and Franklin County, in NW Alabama, should experience some heavy showers.

Doppler radar based at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., indicates several inches of rain already over parts of North Central Mississippi.

It will be noon or later before the showers reach Birmingham.
