A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued in areas west of Alabama until 8 o’clock tonight, It includes about the north 1/3 of Mississippi and extends over to the Alabama border.
Showers and some thunderstorms were increasing over Central Mississippi.
We may get a watch here in Central Alabama as early as 9 ‘clock tonight.
It is also going to become very windy overnight even outside thunderstorm areas. Gusts may exceed 40 mph at time and that may still be the story through daybreak Friday.
We are still outlooked for a slight risk of severe weather. Not totally out of the question for an isolated tornado. However, line of thunderstorms along or ahead of the front late tonight would favor a damaging wind threat,
