A strong thunderstorm in West Alabama was over North Pickens and SE Lamar County.
Moving eastward toward South Fayette and North Tuscaloosa County.
NWS issued a Special Weather Statement because of it for small hail and gusts to 30 mph.
At 8:30, showers were rather widespread across North and Central Alabama and they have developed southward into South Alabama.
All of Alabama except the extreme south is under a slight risk of severe weather today and tonight.
