This is just a quick look. Bill may have another update early this morning and James will have the Monday morning video discussion around 6 or so.
At 4:15 on this Monday morning, most of the heavier showers in Alabama had shifted over into the eastern sections and especially the SE. Lightning was limited to the SE.
In areas from Huntsville to Birmingham to Tuscaloosa westward, only light showers remain although there could be others before the event is over. The cold front is still west of Alabama–moving eastward across Mississippi.
This interesting temperature profile at 4 am:
62 at Columbus, Miss.
47 at Greenville, Miss., near the Mississippi River
38 at Fayetteville, in Extreme NW Arkansas
Rain amounts so far although incomplete mostly from 3340 Skywatchers:
1.01 in Fayette
0.75 Bear Creek
0.73 Cuba (as of 12:34 am)
0.55 South Trussville (From Bill Murray as of 12:17 am)
0.45 Moody (as of 12:17 am)
0.41 at Birmingham Airport (as of 4 am)
We got through the night without warnings.
In fact, the only storm report I can find in the region was a couple of power poles knocked over at Buras, in Extreme SE Louisiana.
As far as Alabama is concerned, the Severe Weather Outlook for today from the Storm Prediction Center has only the extreme SE part included in a slight risk area.
More rain amounts later this morning.
