Unlike yesterday morning when there was already some flooding issues in West Calhoun County, it is calm and collected this morning. Just some showers over NW Florida extending into Extreme South Alabama.
We offer this selection of rain amounts from yesterday and last evening. I suppose most folks treasure every gallon of rain like it is a gallon of gasoline.

*AN UNUSUAL JULY DAY IN ALABAMA
We use Black Creek as an example. How about a high temperature of only 69 at 12:13 am, in the middle of the night. And the low for the day was 63 at 4:04 pm in what should be normally the hottest part of a July day. Getting the old thermometer confused and nervous was n all day rain that lasted 12 consecutive hours! Final total was 1.63 inches.
HUNTSVILLE
Monday’s high of only 81 tied the record for July 23 set way back in 1917 before the days of bottled water, radar, satellites, pop tarts and moon pies and before most of the ABC 33/40 weather crew was born.
A COUNTY IN TEXAS
It is spelled Bexar. Was amused at how many national network people pronounced it that way. But it is pronounced “Bear.” How about that 17 inches of rain in only about 12 hours over SW Texas over the weekend!
Outta here. Gotta take Little Miss Molly to the PBS (Puppy Beauty Shop) for a haircut.
