It has certainly been a very wet morning across much of Alabama. As we approach midday, the majority of the rain is moving out of the region. The rain has ended for much of Central Alabama and is over southeastern parts of the state. Areas along Interstate 85 from Montgomery to Auburn, continue to see heavy rain, but it will moving out of these areas over the next couple of hours. Through out the afternoon, there could still be a few light showers and pockets of drizzle, but the heavy stuff is over with for Central Alabama.
Even though the rain has ended for most of us, the clouds will be hanging around the rest of today. A look at the latest satellite image shows a lot of clouds over much of the Southeast. There are a few breaks in clouds, especially to our southwest, and those cold work across the state and give us a few peeks of sunshine this afternoon, but the real clearing will not occur until the overnight hours. Temperatures will not be changing much today as most locations will remain the 50s.
