Checking the radar, rainfall estimates with these storms this after are pretty big. Rainfall amounts based on radar estimates are approaching 5 inches. Some of those really high values are probably from the high returns from radar. But it would appear that 2 to 3 inch amounts are definitely possible in some isolated areas affected by these storms.
Huntsville Weather has issued a flash flood warning for Madison until 7:15 pm and Lauderdale, Lawrence, and Colbert counties until 6:15 pm.
If you were planning travel, be aware that these storms can put out some tremendous downpours reducing visibility dramatically. And the water on roads can pond resulting in hydroplaning of cars. So drive carefully.
