Some strong thunderstorms have entered West Alabama, especially in Pickens and Sumter Counties. NWS has a Significant Weather Alert for Pickens County until 4:15. The storms were moving generally NE.
There is also a line of heavy showers and storms from Central Mississippi southeastward across West Alabama south of Demopolis and Livingston and then down across South/Central and SE Alabama. The line of storms was moving NE.
There is also an interesting array of showers and storms that persisted this afternoon over East/Central Alabama and North/Central Georgia. The rain has been quite heavy over North/Central Georgia. Showers and storms in East Alabama have been mostly over Talladega, Calhoun, Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties eastward.
All of these showers and storms, of course, can be credited to Humberto. The circulation center for him was still over Eastern Louisiana late this afternoon headed for Central Mississippi.
