Here are a few notes from all over:
SEVERE WEATHER

ALABAMA NOW
Very little going on around the state this afternoon, except that it is too hot. Showers and thunderstorms that moved east across the northern part of the state very early today, moved over into Georgia. This afternoon a Severe Thunderstorrm Watch was posted from extreme East Georgia through much of South Carolina and South and Central North Carolina. Another new Severe Thunderstorm Watch covers much of Arkansas, extreme West Tennessee and extreme North Mississippi.
FLASH FLOODING
A number of Flash Flood Warnings before daybreak and during the morning in places like Arkansas, SW Tennessee and extreme North Mississippi. Three sample rain amounts:
2.74 at Memphis
3.28 Paragould, Arkansas
1.90 Nashville
COOPERSTOWN
That is where James Spann is this week with the Hoover Heat, which is a 12-year-old boys baseball team. They are playing in a tournament in that famous town. Cooperstown is located in South/Central New York on I-88 about midway between Binghampton and Albany. Fortunately, the eastern heat wave abated before they got there. The 4:00 p.m. EDT temperature in Binghampton was 82 and Albany had 90. However, th e dew point was only 52 and the humidity only 28%. The high forecast for Tuesday is 82 and for Wednesday 85, but there will be a good chance of thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.
