There were several reports of damage across Mississippi this afternoon, especially over the central and south part, as that line of strong storms moved eastward. This report is from Brandon east of Jackson.
The Brandon Emergency Operation Center reported gusts to 49 mph, but the wind may have been stronger in other parts of the area. Hundreds of trees are down in the city with some house damage, mostly from large trees falling through the roofs. Power was still out in some areas of the city just before 6 o’clock this evening and some roads were still closed due to trees and power lines down.
