The NWS canceled the severe thunderstorm warning and replaced it with a significant weather alert for NE Bibb, eastern Tuscaloosa, southern Jefferson and western Shelby Counties.
Currently are west of Hoover along I-459 are getting pounded with heavy rain, gusty winds and deadly lightning. It extends back Into Bessemer and McCalla. There is another strong cell northeast of Brookwood in eastern Tuscaloosa County as well.
Severe thunderstorm warning just issued in northeastern Mississippi for storms that will brush western Franklin and Marion Counties. Watch out for those.
In the Tennessee Valley, severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for Lawrence and Morgan Counties. These storm will continue moving south in North Central Alabama.
There is a strong but not severe storm along I-59 near Steele. It is moving southwestward toward Ashville. It has weakened a but in the past few minutes.
