NWS/Birmingham issued a Tornado Warning for Talladega County until 3:00. It was mostly for the north part of the county as the suspect storm was NW of Talladega and moving toward the east.
Also, the NWS (Storm Prediction Center) has posted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for about the north 1/3 of Alabama until 9:00 tonight. It includes Birmingham. The watch extends from Walker, Jefferson and St. Clair Counties north to the Tennessee border. There have been a number of hail reports over North Alabama this afternoon.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was posted for Cherokee County and also for Western Jackson County up in extreme NE Alabama.
A strong thunderstorm off to itself was also forming in West-Central Alabama over North Pickens County. It was moving toward the ENE.
