The Storm Prediction Center has already upgraded the Slight Risk of severe weather Friday to a Moderate Risk over about the north half of Louisiana, Central and South Arkansas, and the west edge of Mississippi. This includes places like Little Rock, Vicksburg, Shreveport and Monroe.
All of Alabama and surrounding states are undera Slight Risk for Saturday. No doubt we will see an upgrade for at part of the area. The SPC normally does not issue a Moderate or High Risk two days ahead.
This continues to shape up to be a significant severe weather episode for Alabama, with the most dangerous time Saturday afternoon and evening. This does not rule out some Saturday morning action.
