The long line of thunderstorms that extended all the way across Alabama has broken into two main parts and it appears that the Birmingham area will be between the parts and miss the strong thunderstorms.

I may have to eat my words later, because they could redevelop.

The NWS has issued another Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North Lamar County in West Alabama until 1:45. The storm was located 6 miles west of Sulligent and moving SE at 15 mph. Sulligent is in North Lamar County.

The storm may produce damaging winds over 60 and it could produce penny-size hail. Intense lightning is also a problem with these storms.

Further north, there are also some strong storms over North Marion County and Western Franklin.

Over on the eastern side of the state, the main line of thunderstorms extended from near Talladega eastward to the Lineville/Ashland area and down across Randolph and Chambers Counties. Those storms are moving toward the SE.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS
