All those intense thunderstorms that bothered and unnerved us during the night moved eastward into Georgia, so this may be our last update for the time being.
However, we will be with you again later. NWS Huntsville is hanging on to the Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8 am for these NW Alabama counties:
Colbert
Franklin
Lauderdale
Lawton
And, for good reason.
More intense thunderstorms were moving east across Extreme North Mississippi and SW Tennessee. They will reach the west part of Alabama’s Tennessee Valley this morning.
The Storm Prediction Center maintains a slight risk of severe weather today for parts of North and NE Alabama including places like Florence, Huntsville, Birmingham, Scottsboro, Gadsden, Anniston and Tuscaloosa. Again, this is due to those mean thunderstorms migrating east from North Mississippi.
Over in North Georgia, A Moderate Risk for today and that extends into South Carolina. This includes Atlanta, a city that is still shook up from last night’s tornado that hit the Georgia Dome near the end of the Alabama-Mississippi State basketball game. Have you ever seen a game end like that? Real drama and televised live.
This will be our final update for awhile we are all wary, sleepy, hungry and suffering from severe malnutrition.
We will certainly not ignore storms still in progress to our west. We will point our blurry eyes that way and watch and wait.
