They are in two separate areas of the state.

SOUTH ALABAMA
Nice cluster of showers over the south-central counties mainly between Montgomery and Andalusia. Heaviest rain was over Crenshaw County about midway between those two cities, including the Luverne area.

NORTHWEST ALABAMA
A narrow band of showers from Lamar County along the Mississippi border, northward to Florence/Tuscumbia. Mostly light.

Everything moving NE.

Showers more numerous over the north third of Mississippi (but still scattered) Nearest lightning return is near Memphis and not very much.

We will be updating the blog ad nauseum over the next several days as our weather goes on the prowl. I am off on Saturday and Sunday but will be available for backup for Bill asnd the crew.

I will also be on duty Thanksgiving Day, Christmas eve, Christmas day, New Years eve and New Years day. It happens to fall that way this year. Learned long time ago in 32 years in the U.S. Weather Bureau and National Weather Service to adjust.

So we often celebrated birthdays and main holidays off set by 2 or 3 days.

We were just as happy.
