Several showers developed late this afternoon over West Central Alabama. These are out ahead of the main line of thunderstorms still over in Mississippi.
At 5:45 PM, the showers were over Sumter, Greene and Pickens County.
Moving NNE, in fact, almost due north.
In and updated discussion, the Storm Prediction Center advises that the threat of severe weather may be better than earlier thought for Alabama later tonight. It is something that we will watch closely.
