It is another raw, cold, dreary, and wet day across the state and Southeast. Showers are beginning to move into the state from Mississippi and as we head throughout the day, we will see the coverage in showers increasing. It is going to be a very wet Sunday. Very cold air is nearby, but we are expecting temps to increase as our winds begin to shift out of the south. That means no winter weather problems for Alabama.
A boundary is trying to move north today from the Gulf, and with it ample moisture. This moisture is overrunning this boundary and will lead to the increase in showers. There could even be a few elevated thunderstorms today mixed in as well. No severe weather is expected, but as the rain coverage and intensity increases, we could see the threat for flooding develop in some areas, especially heading into the overnight hours.
