Scattered showers developed quickly early this morning in a zone from West Central Alabama northeastward into the NE corner of the state.
At 4:45 am, most of the showers were from Tuscaloosa County northeast across Jefferson County and to near Scottsboro and Fort Payne in the extreme NE.
They were moving steadily toward the NE.
Included were a few moderate to heavy showers over West Tuscaloosa County.
It was raining heavily in NE Trussville at 4:45. We also hear thunder.
The Storm Prediction Center maintains a slight risk of severe weather today over all of Alabama. There is a chance this could be upgraded later today if everything falls into place.
