In the heat of the afternoon, the first showers and thunderstorms weredeveloping early this afternoon but they were still ver scarce.
The main ones at 1:15 pm were near Fort Payne in NE Alabama, another one NW of Huntsville. The only one in Central Alabama was over Clay County. Got a report from Mike McCormick in Ashland indicating heavy showers and lightning.
Winds aloft are extremely light so the thunderstorms today will again be slow-movers.
