I did expect a little more sunshine than we are seeing across Central Alabama this afternoon. Let’s just say the sky has plenty of character.

A large mass of clouds extends from the Shoals area southward to Tuscaloosa and Selma and then westward over much of Mississippi. The cloud deck has been eroding on its northern and eastern flanks, with quite a bit of blue sky on the skycams at Decatur and Huntsville.

It was 75F at Anniston where there has been some sunshine, 71F at Birmingham and 68F at Tuscaloosa where it is cloudy.

Some showers were over Southwest Alabama, but the radar is generally clear.

You can see the signs of tonight and Monday’s weather now showing up in t he form of radar echoes over East Texas. It will be wet tonight and tomorrow, the start of a wet weather week.
