Had a great time today playing in the celebrity softball game prior to the Southern League Homerun Derby at Birmingham’s historic Rickwood Field. The game ended in a 1-1 tie; I batted .500 for the day (1 single, 1 ground out). Good to see many old friends on a summer day “at the yard”. Note our coach, Wimp Sanderson, had a hamstring injury running to first base. I have one shot of the crowd in the right field bleachers; they were out there trying to grab one of the home runs. The Southern League All-Star game is tomorrow night at Regions Park at 7:00… should be a great night.
