At least it is semi-good news:
Birmingham is no longer in the D-4 (Exceptional Drought) category, but barely.
* Only 15.4 percent of Alabama is now exceptional
* One week ago the percentage was 35.3
* One month ago it was 42.1 percent
* As recent as October 23, 2007, it was an oppressive 63.7 percent!
That is progress but we must remember the drought is a long way from being over.
Today’s report shows that the D-4 Exceptional Drought extends from Cullman, Blount, Etowah and Cherokee County northward.
