Spoke a little too soon about the heavy clouds. Skies are clearing quickly across Central Alabama and showers and thunderstorms are popping up quickly. They extend from eastern Marion down through Walker, Fayette, and into Pickens on the west. You can find them eastward all the way to St. Clair and Talladega counties. Nothing extremely heavy yet, but with continued heating, heavy rain and thunderstorms will occur. Can’t rule out the possibility of a severe thunderstorm warning or two. Some areas could pick up as much as 2 inches of rain in a short period and flash flood warnings could be required.
Be alert to changing weather conditions thoughout the afternoon.
