Scattered thunderstorms continued this afternoon (really, they are widely spaced overall. If you were to clump them all together, they would only cover 1 to 2 counties). At 1:45, some of the strongest storms were over Eastern Bullock County in SE Alabama and over Sumter County in West-Central Alabama.
NWS/Birmingham issued a Significant Weather Alert until 2:15 because of the Sumter County storm. The storm was 5 miles west of Livingston moving east at about 15, so this alert includes the City of Livingston. Could be gusts to 45 mph with frequent lightning.
Elsewhere around the state, scattered storms continued from NE Jefferson County into St. Clair, Blount and Etowah Counties. There were a number of other smaller showers or storms. The overall movement seems to be slowly toward NE.
The earlier thunderstorm over NE Trussville produced 0.41 rain in about 10 minutes.
