Finally, the Alabama storms are getting tired and slowly going downhill.

Not entirely.

Lots of rain and thunderstorms in a broad band from NE Alabama down through the East Central part to South Central and SW Alabama. Most of the significant rain was east of the Guntersville-Oneonta-Birmingham-Demopolis-Livingston line.

The Tornado Watch expired at 7 pm for these additional counties:

Bibb
Blount
Dallas
Jefferson
Marengo
Perry
Shelby

At 7:25 pm, there were no warnings in the state.

A Tornado Watch continues for such counties as Talladega eastward until midnight. However, a number of counties will probably be in the clear well before midnight.

We will post more rain amounts later. Just a few as of 6 pm, CST:

0.77 at Birmingham Airport
0.69 at Decatur
0.87 Huntsville
0.41 Tuscaloosa Airport

SURVEY TEAMS
Jim Stefkovich, Meteorologist in Charge of the NWS, Birmingham, advises that two teams of NWS people will go on a storm survey tomorrow. In addition, one person will look at the damage areas from the air.
