People are growing tired of so many thunderstorms but, unfortunately, we will still have them around again today and a number of days down the road.

Already early this afternoon, thunderstorms were already in progress across the Tennessee Valley of Extreme north Alabama and also over the south third of the state.

The storms were more numerous down south especially from near Montgomery southward to the coast.

It was pouring rain in Crenshaw and Butler County. Other strong storms were spreading into Monroe County. In West Alabama, storms were forming over Sumter and Greene County.

A large group of showers and thunderstorms covering an area about 70 miles wide was spreading inland across coastal Louisiana and coastal Mississippi and into the Northern Gulf of Mississippi and Alabama.

Everything that I have mentioned above is headed toward the NE, so look for showers and thunderstorms to be in our forecast at least the rest of this week. Naturally there will be a variation in the number of storms. We may see a decrease over the weekend.
