Scattered strong storms continue across parts of Alabama this afternoon.

At 4:30…the main concentrations were…

…over North Alabama from Cullman and eastern Winston Counties up through eastern Lawrence, Morgan, Limestone and Madison Counties. A flash flood warning was in effect for parts of Limestone, Morgan and Lawrence Counties. A severe thunderstorm warning was just issued for northern Madison County for a storm north of Harvest.

…along the western border of the state from southern Marion through Lamar, Pickens, Greene and Marengo Counties.

…over Perry, Dallas and Wilcox Counties.

…over southern Walker to the western Jefferson County border.

…over eastern Blount and western Etowah Counties in the Clarence, Snead, Walnut Grove and Altoona areas.

…over Elmore, Macon and Russell Counties of East Alabama.

In the Birmingham Metro…a decent storm with a good bit of lightning is approaching the Smoke Rise, Warrior and Trafford areas.

In Mississippi…strong cells were near Columbus. There is a good bit of moderate to heavy rain in a northeast to southwest axis across the state from the NE corner into the Delta.

Everything is moving east…although individual cells are moving northeast.

Most of the storms will stay below severe limits, but lightning, gusty winds and heavy rain are possible with any of them.

Showers and storms will continue to overspread Central Alabama for the remainder of the afternoon and evening.
