Scattered showers and some thunderstorms were developing early this afternoon over North Alabama–possibly because of an outflow boundary from last evening’s storms.
At 1:30 p.m., the main one were over NW Alabama over Lawrence, Colbert and Lauderdale Counties. They were moving SE and dumping locally heavy rain.
Other more widely spaced storms were near Ft. Payne and Guntersville. There was also an isolated storm over downtown Birmingham producing lots of lightning and heavy rain.
