As expected a complex of showers and thunderstorms is moving into Northwest Alabama this morning. These storms will continue to drop south-southeast through the day. Out ahead of the main complex, storms are beginning to develop too. None of these storms are currently severe, but with daytime heating destabilizing the atmosphere and the uplift provided by boundaries moving into the state, storms that develop could rapidly become severe capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. Showers and storms are affecting Lauderdale and Colbert Counties and we are beginning to see development into Lamar County as well. Along with hail and winds, storms will be producing very intense rain and frequent lightning.
