Showers and storms are rapidly developing in the unstable air over North Central Mississippi early this afternoon. The development extends over into Northwest Alabama.
Additional storms were firing northeast of Jackson MS.
A large area of rain and storms is near the Mississippi River from the Memphis area down into southeastern Arkansas.
All of this activity will eventually affect parts of Alabama this afternoon and evening.
Be alert for lightning and strong gusty winds through the day and into the overnight.
