Strong storms across Tuscaloosa County and across the Tennessee Valley, but the storms are slowly weakening. And that trend is supported by the HRRR, our convection allowing model of choice.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 1 am CDT for much of Central Alabama.

An upper-level ridge to our west and surface high pressure to the northeast will keep Alabama dry and slightly cooler this weekend. As we head into the week, the ridge will spread further into the state, warming us some and keeping rain chances at bay. Continue reading
