NWS has issued a Significant Weather Alert until 5:30 for Hale and Tuscaloosa Counties in West-Central Alabama. A line of strong storms extended from SE Tuscaloosa County about 21 miles NE of Moundville southwestward to 13 miles south of Moundville moving west at 15. They are overdosing with lightning.
They will continue moving west toward the city of Tuscaloosa and toward Moundville and eventually into North Greene County.
Another very strong thunderstorm was near where Blount, Jefferson and Walker Counties come together near Smokerise. The main part of the storm was west of Warrior and will be moving toward Empire and Sipsey in East Walker County. Because of that storm, the NWS in Huntsville has issued a Significant Weather Alert for South Cullman County until 5:45. Part of that storm may affect Arkadelphia, Colony, Wilburn, Bremen and Good Hope. This storm could intensify and trigger a warning.
Still other strong storms were over South Jackson County in the NE corner of the state and in Marion County in NW Alabama.
