An apparent gravity wave was developing over NW Alabama. There are widespread reports of fallen trees and downed power lines between Sulligent and Vernon. Ham radio operators report wind damages near Winfield, Guiin and the SE part of Marion County. Numerous trees are down in the area.
Trees are also down in the Brilliant area of Marion County around 1:26 p.m. There are power outages in the area also. We will watch the situation closely as it spreads eastward along the back edge of a broad rain and thunderstorm area.
This is not that unusual and it can bring down a lot of trees.
Meanwhile, down in extreme South Alabama, the Tornado Watch continues until 4:00 p.m. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued for Baldwin County and Escambia County.
