She really is not a nice lady. She changes her mind sometimes every hour. I have been watching the Jacksonville Doppler radar and putting it in motion and Fay is hardly moving. The center was almost entirely offshore for a time today and at least half of it still is. After being stalled for hours, she had started a very slow movement toward the WNW at only 2 mph.
This radar loop that I am watching seems to indicate that she may have taken a slight south of due west movement during the last hour. We don’t know for sure, but the lates official track forecast brings her westward across North Florida and the Florida Panhandle just barely inland most of the time. With just a little bit of a southward movement, she could get back over the waters of the Northern Gulf. Our friend, the Gulf of Mexico, is sporting 582,000 square miles of nice warm water–a welcome to any tropical disturbance.
HISTORIC RAIN AMOUNTS
I sure do appreciate ABC 33/40 Skywatcher, Michelle Miklik, for helping me gather storm totals instead of just 24-hour totals. We may have to appoint her as the RO (Rain Officer).
