Frost was reported in a number of locations, especially the valleys. A late report from Jamey Mays also indicates scattered frost in Winfield, Marion County.
TEMPERATURE CONTRASTS
The low in Clay (NE Jefferson County) this morning was 43 while only about 2.5 air miles away it was 36 in NE Trussville. Wally Coker, the Clay observer, is located at a higher elevation off Deerfoot Parkway while I am located down in the
U.S. 11 valley in the NE edge of Trussville Frost on all cars this morning and a small amount on roofs. There was a similar contrast in East Alabama. The 33/40 skywatcher for Oxford reported 43 while not far to the south, Jon Pace, News Director for WTDR-FM, Anniston, reported frost in Munford. We all know this is not a one number part of the country on mornings like this because of the varied elevations.
