These HOT summer days can be extremely unbearable, especially to your four legged friends. Your pet needs YOUR help to keep him cool in the hot summer sun. Here’s some things to keep in mind:

1. Have dogs trimmed.
* If not properly groomed the dog could even encounter a
heatstroke.
* Avoid shaving cats; this could lead to sunburn.

2. Make sure they have enough water.
* Dogs and cats can quickly dehydrate in hot summer weather.

3. Provide a shady area.
* Tarps may be used for dogs who are fenced in outdoors.

4. Keep the Air conditioner going.
* If you have an inside dog or cat, don’t turn the A.C. down
before leaving for work.

5. Never leave pets in the car!
* This can quickly lead to a heatstroke.

**Watch for signs of overheating, such as excessive painting,
drooling, or vomiting.

***An older or overweight pet may need extra help during
temperature extremes. Try bringing them indoors during the
hottest part of the day.
