Within the last hour, thunderstorms over North Alabama diminished a bit although moderate to heavy showers persisted NE of Fort Payne. There were moderate showers west of Jasper and another developing moderate to heavy shower over West Jefferson County and one in the vicinity of Trussville in NE Jefferson..
Now, we turn to the SW to find the heaviest showers in the state. At 4 pm, they were over Clarke and South Marengo County as well as part of Choctow County.
These heavier showers were moving toward the NE, aiming generally for the Demopolis and Camden areas.
Other showers and storms could develop at any time. This report just describes the main ones.
After 7 this evening, we will assemble a list of today’s rain amounts. Some communities got some cheerful amounts.
WEEKLY CROP AND WEATHER REPORT
We will also post notes from that very informative report issued weekly on Monday afternoon from the Department of Agriculture, Alabama Field Office, Montgomery. Should have done that yesterday but the information is still valid and part of the report is encouraging.
