Radar indicates a line of intense thunderstorms over north Alabama, and a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Morgan County. The storms may have weakened a little in the past 30 minutes, but have produced wind damage in Marion and Winston Counties.

These storms are associated with a weak upper-level disturbance interacting with the very moist, unstable air over Alabama. Another disturbance is approaching from the west, and is currently in Arkansas.

As the next disturbance moves in late this afternoon and this evening, and there is a strong thermal boundary in place due to cooling from the morning storms, expect additional storms to develop farther south than current storms, in places like TCL and BHM.
