The Flash Flood Warning still in effect until 4:15 for these areas:
…..SW Blount County
…..NE Jefferson County
…..West Central St. Clair County
At 3 pm, most of the storms had moved out of those areas but there was still flooding underway from runoff. Other showers were forming over NW Jefferson County near the Walker County line.
More numerous showers and thunderstorms over South Mississippi were moving NE. Too soon to determine if these will hold up long enough to add to the rain amounts in this area.
This was a significant flash flood event in the area. Scroll down to see some specific reports, My son, with the Center Point Fire Department is convinced that at least two inches of rain fell in a relatively short time, He is pretty good at those estimates.
At my place, in NE Trussville, the rain amount was 0.97 and it came down fairly quickly.
